(0)I’ve just completed another behind-the-scenes update for the site. Directory Critic’s linking structure is now 100% static. Meaning there’s no more index.php?page=blah&id=56656, it’s now all html links. Why was this update important? I’ll tell you…
Google spiders this site lik crazy, and once it gets through the new static link setup I expect the number of pages indexed for this site to double.
Which is good for everyone 🙂

(0)Yesterday I made an announcement on Digital Point for this site and it’s resulted an about 30 new web directories being submitted and a handful of article directories. I have a big list of article directories ready to start adding so I’ll get going on that tonight.
I have also added a new category, Pets & Animals. I thought it was necessary as Ive been getting more and more pet directory submissions.
My target for the end of April is 900 web directories and 200 article directories. Better get started…

(0)As I write this the total number of directories listed on this site is 785, and I reckon in the next few days that will break the 800 mark. I’m pretty please about that number. In 1 month I’m aiming for over 1000. Which shouldn’t be too hard since I’ve been adding around 40-50 per week for the last 3 months.
Also, added a new category today, Games & Toys. I’ve had a few submissions in this niche so I thought a new category was warrented.
Thanks to the people that have been emailing me with corrections/updates/broken link reports. I try my best to keep on top of everything, but there’s only 1 or me and 785 dirs! So thanks. Thank you also to the directory owners that email me when changes to their directory take place (ie. from free to paid). This makes maintaining the list so much easier.

(0)As part of my mini site overhaul Directory Critic is now accepting article directories! So if you own an article directory or know of a good one that you think should make the list, please submit it here. I’m sure it wont take long for this list to grow to hundreds of article directories.
I haven’t added tracking or view details to the article list yet, but I should get it done in the next few days. I’m also going to setup a box at the top for up to 5 featured article directories. These links will be selling at $10/month. If you’re interested in being the first to advertise there just let me know.

(0)Well, nothing out of the ordinary has been happening here behind the scenes at Directory Critic. New directory submissions keep coming in, and I keep adding them. Not really exciting stuff.
So I thought I’d take the opportunity to let everyone know about some (not so new) advertising options I’ve setup here. The site has pretty much doubled in popuarity in March. The free directory list is where most visitors spend their time, and I was surprised at how popular this blog has become! The blog feed gets almost as many pageviews as the home page.
So there’s a couple of options I have setup. You can buy a monthly link in the “critic’s choice” box (discount for 3 months), announce your new directory/webmaster site on this bog for a one off fee and put you sites 125×125 banner up. Details are here:
http://www.directorycritic.com/advertise.html
There’s still 5 spaces left in the box so get em’ while they last!
The lists are growing, by my next post I wanna have 800 SEO friendly directories! If you know a dir that’s seo friendly and it’s not on my list, please submit it – even if it’s not yours.

(0)Directory Critic has just reached another milestone! We now have over 700 search engine friendly directories in our lists! We’re adding around 50 new directories every week so soon we’ll be hitting the 1000 directrory mark! Every directory is checked for SEO Friendliness before making the list, so you know you’re getting a backlink and PR.
There’s lots going on behind the scenes here as well, so stay tuned. In the mean time, enjoy the PR, traffic and backlinks you get from submitting to the directories list here!

(3)Enough is enough. I am sick of getting spammed by this website. I am getting comment spam here on the blog and this site repeatedly gets submitted to the site even though it’s not even a directory! I have noticed some directories have this site listed already. I urge you if you have this site listed in your directory to delete it.
Here are the details:
Email: [email protected]
URI: http://www.nextstudent.com
Do not accept this site in your directory, they’re spammers!
God I HATE SPAM!

(2)Well, I’ve just launched a few sites so Ive been hittin’ the free list and getting my sites listed in as many directories as possible. Little did I know, this would lead to so many list changes! It’s been a while since I’ve submitted to the list and after the recent google PR update many directories have switched over to paid. So about 80 or so directories have shifted from the free to paid lists. I also removed a few that were no longer live or not accepting submissions. So for the moment the free list shrunk while the paid list grows.
Don’t worry though, I’m still adding free directories daily for those of you who need their free directory fix 🙂 I’ve added about 30-40 free directories in the past 5 days.
Another niche was also added tonight, food and drink. So if you know any food related, recipe, cocktail etc directories please feel free to add them (as long as their seo friendly of course).
Thanks all for now, stay tuned for updates.
(and don’t forget to keep checking this page for new dirs added to the lists)

(0)Well it wasn’t as hard as I thought it was going to be, but I’ve successfully skinned wordpress for the first time! I also changed the header image so now it looks a little bit less crap that it did before!
Now that the blog looks the part, time to start some promo 🙂
