I'm just wondering, what do you guys think should be the best placement for you directory/sites navigation toolbar? Top, left or right? Any placement has any effect on SEO?

Smile Navigation

Personally speaking,I find left navigation bar quite useful, you can add more links in it.Ideal for heavy sites.

Horizontal looks good, but you cannot add more than 5 or 6 links. It is ideal for shorter sites.

Right navigation looks odd that's why it is less used.

Default

I feel top links are better than any of the others.
