Hey,
What directory script are you using? What's your view? Please don't go off-topic, this topic is strictly related to directory scripts. I am using the paid version of IndexU relatively good script, but I think there can be a few improvements done, but the best way is to mod the script yourself and develop custom features. Meti

I currently have two directories and run phpLD on both. I was the first script that I used when I started with directories and I never use any other scripts. I like the script, it is very easy to install and set up in the admin panel. There are a lot of template options out there and most are free.

Hi
I am using phpmydirectory and I like it, there are alot of features built into the product that makes for a potentially very good directory. I do like the fact that ratings and reviews can be left by users of the site.

I developed my own at BungeeBones.com. It has been a challenge but worth it.
I guess I can't say I developed all of it because I started with the open source script YALD but I have customized a lot of it. I added rating ability by both the public and other webmasters. I changed the login and session handling to an object oriented class. I added a different navigation system that is quite unique. For the subcategories I have them come under an alphabetical pagination system, as opposed to numeric. But unlike most alph pagination systems, I only create as many pages as necessary and display the letters of the names they contain. Most give you a list of the 26 letters and you end up clicking on empty pages. I converted it into a subscription service where the directory can be installed on other websites with just a few lines of code and be fed from my server a la Adsense style. The website owners can then just kick back and let me review the links etc I tied a social bookmarking script into it that I called "Webmaster Favorites" thinking that everyday average surfers might find the recommendations of webmasters as credible. The real challenge for me will be whether it can stand up to a lot of traffic, if and when I get it. You all are welcomed to add a free link and it does have pretty good PR (pr5).
