i would start with directory submissions.
to the free and paid ones. and try to get some in content links. search for relative sites.. contact them and ask for link exchange. then try to do some article submissions about your site. and do some social bookmark service. |

Hmmm...what I see in the trend nowadays is that people will go for .edu sites because usually they have high PR. The most targeted ones are the signature links at .edu forum which some people are willing to pay hundreds for it.

Do a few web directory submissions - not too many. Some blog reviews, some blog comments, write a hubpage on your area, and exchange a few with people in the same area.
Then do the same all over again every month.
