Ryan from Niche Listings contacted me yesterday to let me know that he is selling his directory. Niche Listings is one of the leading directories I have listed on Directory Critic. The auction is taking place in this thread over at DigitalPoint. If you’re in the market for a well established and profitable directory I suggest you sheck this one out.
In other news, I am in the process of moving house and have only just been able to get back online. I’m connected to the internet at a whopping 46.2kbps while I wait for ADSL2+ to get installed. It’s killing me! So, I have just finished the 120 directory updates I had waiting and will try to get through the 50 or so new directory suggestions within the next day or two. I’m way behind, but should be back in the swing of things by the weekend!

I was pleased to see that Directory Critic copped a good review by the team at Site Review Blog. It seems whoever wrote the review has been using this site and had some good experiences. I like the comment about “modern design”, lol, I can’t design to save my life! Well, I guess it’s functional and works.
In other news, this week the lists will hit the 1800 mark! w00t w00t! I think it will pass the 2k mark by the end of next month.

I was pretty shocked when I got asked for an interview, why would someone want to interview me?? Well the owner of DirectoriesForum.com approached me yesterday and asked for an interview so I said why not. You can read the interview here. Nothing exciting to read I assure you, but if you’re bored…
Nothing else much to report on the site lately…thanks again to all the webmasters who’ve been using the report function to report directory changes to me. I’ve been making about 10-20 updates a day, which is excellent as it keeps the lists up-to-date.
One more thing…if you’ve been living in a cave for the past week and havent read this article about building links I really suggest you do. I just had to get on the bandwagon and give this article some blogosphere love because it deserves it!

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past month you’ve probably heard of Randfish’s (from seomoz.org) page strength tool. This tool gives your page/site a strength rating of between 1 and 10 based on a whole array of variables.
The owner of Aviva directory ran 100 directories through the tool (why didn’t I think of that!). Some of the results may surprise you. You can view all 100 results here.
If you’re wondering which directories are worth paying for this is a good indication.
